Batey Midrash

 Jerusalem Beit Midrash

The Beit Midrash is a spiritual home for dozens of dear Torah learners, according to the principles of the recovery approach. We have confidence in the ability of all learners to bravely cope with mental and personal difficulties and find satisfaction and joy in the tent of Torah. Torah study is be a meaningful occupation for an individual - a good reason to get out of bed, his main undertaking and what defines his personality.

In addition to the beit midrash, we accompany dozens of mentally challenged individuals in Torah integration program in the community designed to help those who choose to study in yeshivas and batei midrash in the community. They study as usual, with a special emphasis on the Integrative study partners project.

Day begins at 9:00 a.m., when learners gather from across city, meeting for a lesson on ethics that opens the day. After that, we split into study groups, mainly Talmud, and before Mincha prayers, a halachic lesson. A substantial group stays for lunch and further study until 16:00

The beit midrash operates from morning till four in the afternoon. The daily schedule consists of lessons in moral ethics, Talmud, prophets and halacha. Each student is accompanied individually by a professional social worker, in addition to the Torah studying and guidance of the rabbis of the beit midrash.

Only here you will find the special group of "searchers", a unique group in which learning is based solely on the content that the group members share, from their own desire. Thus, even those who do not find their place in Talmud study, can find their own part in Torah, a Torah that is taught in a group.

 Beit Midrash Bnei Brak

Located in the city of the Torah, addressing the Bnei Torah community in the city and the entire area.

About 60 Torah learners who love torah, from different backgrounds and ages, create a wonderful harmony, in which each sound is unique. We, the staff members, strive to enable every student to fulfill his dreams regarding Torah study and to live a full and meaningful Torah life. The students are full partners in the design of the beit midrash and take an active part in choosing the tractate to be taught, delivering lessons, organizing trips and leisure activities, and more.

The daily schedule begins with morning prayers, followed by breakfast, prepared by the students. Basic study session, which lasts from 10:00 to 13:15. During these hours there are a variety of lessons and partner learning in Talmud, Halacha, Jewish philosophy, Chassidut and Mussar. A united group, vital and joyus. At 13:15 Mincha, and those interested stay for a light lunch and a Daf Yomi lesson.

Only here you will find a Daf Yomi lesson steadily, page after page, since the beginning of the 14th cycle, on the 8th of Tevet 5720/2020. Of course, we celebrate each end of the tractate together with great excitement!

Daf Yomi - About two years ago, we had an idea to set up a Daf Yomi class in the evening, which would be intended for my mental health service recipients together with others. Our rationale was to create a framework of permanence, with clear achievements, which can create a sense of success. In addition to belong to the global Daf Yomi learning community, which brings great pride to all participants. When we consulted with various mental health professionals, the voice was clear – absolutely not! This will create competitiveness, pressure and hence a sense of disappointment and failure. But we felt a thirst for such a lesson, and we understood that there could be a gap between reality as we see it and the world of mental health theory.

Today, about two years after the decision to establish the class, it takes place every day, and is attended regularly by about 15 people. They have been privileged to study hundreds of pages of Talmud together! The siyumim that take place from time to time are an exciting and unique event in which the students get to celebrate their achievements and go home with a sense of pride that they rightly deserve.

Beit Midrash Rehovot

Established in 2012, first in a city that is not strictly Haredi

Sounds of study in the beit midrash reflect a variety of learners who engage together in Torah in harmony and in a pleasant atmosphere. According to the principles of recovery, the beit midrash is led by joint decision-making of all participants, while finding the unique position for each learner – in his study, in the way the beit midrash conducts itself and in social activities. Each learner is invited to choose between attending classes, learning partners, or with one of our dear volunteers. We are deeply inspired by the rabbinic teaching that 'One learns Torah in a place where his heart desires.' Each week, the students write and produce a diverse weekly Torah Torah pamphlet.

Our day begins at 9:30 a.m., with a short lesson, followed by a variety of lessons to choose from until Mincha prayers. Talmud and Halakha studies at the center and are accompanied by lessons on the weekly Torah portion, Bible, Jewish Philosophy and Hasidus. On Mondays and Thursdays, the Torah reading takes place. On some days, the study day is extended, for those interested, into the afternoon.

Every day there is at least one lesson given by one of the learners.

Uniquely we run a professional bookbinding workshop. Together we have built a large and impressive library, where we maintain books to lend out to all our batei midrash around the country.
